When hope is small and problems are big….
I work with people to slow down, reconnect to what is important, and find a path forward.

I primarily practice Narrative Therapy, focusing on meaning-making. We look at the stories we have been told about ourselves and we tell ourselves. In therapy, these stories can be rewritten, bringing you closer to your hopes and values, serving as the catalyst for change. I also incorporate somatic-based therapies and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. I am trained in Trans and Queer affirming care and Culturally Sensitive therapy, where we look at the impact of race, culture, gender and other intersections of identity to help us find our way through problems that affirm who you are.
While some of our sessions will 'zoom out' to look at the big picture, I am just as interested in the small details. By noticing how a problem shows up in your day-to-day life, we can find those tiny openings—new actions and small developments—that allow us to author a new path forward.

I practice relational Narrative Therapy, focusing on how power, norms, and culture all inform how we are in relationship to ourselves and others. We can get caught up in stories about ourselves and our relationships that keep us stuck. I work collaboratively with you and your loved ones to move towards a preferred way of being together.

I integrate 16 plus years of clinical and supervisory experience into a structured yet flexible supervisory lens. I provide supervision to pre-licensed and independently licensed clinicians who are interested in ongoing development. I also am available to provide group supervision privately and to organizations :
Reflective Supervision (RGS): Trained in the Ackerman Institute for the Family’s model, I guide clinicians to reflect first on their own internal experiences to better understand and address the clinical needs of their clients.
Culturally Sensitive Supervision: Utilizing Dr. Ken Hardy’s framework, we explore the impact of race, culture, gender, and power dynamics within the therapeutic relationship.
Narrative & Social Justice Lens: We look at the "dominant stories" of the mental health field and work to reclaim narratives that align with your values and your clients' hopes.

Anxiety is a tricky thing. It keeps us safe and when it’s left to rule, it can be crippling. I support people in understanding how anxiety operates in their lives, developing new pathways for managing life’s stressors. Whether you are experiencing panic attacks, repetitive unwanted thoughts and compulsive behaviors, or simply finding yourself sitting at the sidelines of your life, my approach is to collaborate with you.

Complex trauma requires an individualized and collaborative approach. Trauma warps our view of the world and clouds the future. I incorporate Narrative therapy to help address the meaning we have made in the aftermath (and potentially ongoing nature) of trauma. We explore what stories trauma tells us about how to keep safe and who is safe. To address the day to day distress you may be experiencing (often felt in our bodies) I incorporate a more body-based approach using sensorimotor psychotherapy and DBT to help build the skills and new ways of relating to the world.

I am trained in the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality, an approach that aims to support individuals in the community during episodes of suicidality. For those who have a long history of feeling suicidal, I work to help you develop a better understand of the role the suicidality plays in your life. Ultimately, I aim to help you take suicide off the table, addressing its root causes and finding new ways to cope.

As someone who has never been helped by a ”to do list”, or the encouragement to simply be more thoughtful or "prioritize better”, I believe that therapy should never be about getting people closer to “typical.” It’s a place to give name to all the effort you’ve put into making it in this world and what you’ve had to mask in order to do so. We make peace with who we are, setting aside the shame and guilt, and work towards building a life that fits you.

Whether we are exploring gender, parenting roles, racial identity, or the ways in which a chronic illness has drastically changed your life, shifts in identity can be exciting and also daunting. We are handed "scripts" by society, our families, or the world around us about who we should be and how we should live. I work with individuals as they navigate to make meaning, build a life that truly reflects who they are, and also reconcile and grieve what is no longer.
